Introduced in 2004, GCash is one of the world’s most advanced mobile payment ecosystems. It includes key applications such as person-to-person transactions, remittances, POS retail, online, bill pay and salary payments.  Since it is developed and owned by telecommunications operator;  it was able to quickly transform payment in the Philippines with ready base of millions of users.
