iDEAL - Online Payments through your own bank

iDEAL is by far the most widely accepted payment method among Dutch online merchants; currently more than 90,000 online stores and other parties, both in the Netherlands and abroad, accept iDEAL. Due to a growing interest in iDEAL abroad, Dutch customers can increasingly pay with iDEAL in foreign webshops. The use of iDEAL outside the traditional e-commerce area is also increasing, for purposes including donations to charities and paying bills and fines. 

iDEAL is currently generating over 140 million payments per annum, and as a result has given a boost to the turnover of webshops. A new milestone has been reached in 2013. Thanks to a considerable increase in the number of iDEAL payments, the magical threshold of half a billion iDEAL payments was passed at the end of November 2013 since iDEAL was introduced in 2005.
